CO2 Euthanasia Station

TEM SEGA USA developed and manufactures a specific compact station, for the humane handling of mice and rats, working with a CO2 inducer for confined cages, following very specific AVMA guidelines and ethics.

Responsibly Following the Guiding Principles

We are committed to comply with the AVMA Guidelines and EU regulations, while adhering to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to euthanize rats and mice. Our goal is to minimize stress and ensure that the user can perform the procedure safely, efficiently and as humanely as possible.

To uphold these principles, we developed a fully automated and precisely controlled station:

  • Rat/Mouse detection, for accurate species identification and seamless operation,

  • Progressive C02 induction, following AVMA and EU-recommended protocols to reduce distress,

  • An exclusive feature to this station, is the used gas suction, effectively removing used gas for a safer working environment.

By integrating cutting-edge automation TEM SEGA USA station eliminates human variability in the process, ensuring compliance, consistency and the highest standards of animal welfare.

The advantages of using CO2 with
our Euthanasia Station

As Tem Sega USA is dedicated to upholding Ethical and Regulatory Standards, which includes our commitment to assess and increase animal welfare during euthanasia, and more particularly concerning CO2 exposure and proper user handling.

We aim to decrease potential animal distress, in line with AVMA guidelines advocating for optimal flow rates in CO2 euthanasia systems.

Our Station features independent modules that can be programmed with tailored flow rates and can evolve with AVMA and others guidelines.
